Linux multipath is making me tired (part 2)

Follow up from an earlier post

  1. If I’m reading those release notes correctly, that’s only the case when you are running the RedHat compatible kernel (2.6.18-238.el5).

    It should be correct with the UEK kernel (2.6.32-100.26.2.el5) according to those release notes. But I’ve to say, i’m running into multipathing problems with this kernel and the OEL multipath software as well.

    Did you have any luck solving your problems?

  2. Yep. Running the RH-Compatable kernel, and downgrading kpartx and device-mapper-multipath does successfully give me a working multipath setup.

    It’s frustrating that this has gone on since 5.4 through (and including) 5.7.

    And I’m not willing to run the Oracle kernel.
